Question 1

How much do custom blinds, shades, and shutters cost in Aggieland?

Accepted Answer

Custom window treatments typically range from under $100 to over $1,000 per window. The price depends on the product, window size, material, operating system, motorization, and number of windows, so an exact quote requires measuring the actual windows. That's why Made in the Shade Aggieland includes a free in-home consultation — Amanda and the team measure every window precisely, show samples in your home's real light, and tailor the quote to your project. Financing is available.

Question 2

What window treatments are best for blocking the hot Texas afternoon sun?

Accepted Answer

Solar shades are the top choice for the Aggieland sun — they block the sun's heat and up to 99% of UV before it enters, keeping rooms cooler and stopping fading. Roller shades (our featured top pick) go smart with motorization, and honeycomb shades add insulation to lower your energy bill. One local business installed our shades specifically to block the afternoon sunlight, and plantation shutters add timeless style and value.

Question 3

Are you locally owned?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Made in the Shade Aggieland is a local, family-owned business owned and operated by Amanda Krotulski and her team. You work directly with the owner, not a call center — with a 4.9-star rating across dozens of reviews. They proudly serve Bryan, College Station, and the surrounding Brazos Valley, and bring the showroom to your door.

Question 4

Do solar shades really keep rooms cooler and lower energy bills?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Solar shades block the sun's heat and up to 99% of UV before it enters, which keeps rooms cooler and eases your AC through the long Texas cooling season. Honeycomb shades add insulation for even more energy savings. They also protect your floors, furniture, and artwork from the intense Texas sun while preserving your view.

Question 5

Do you offer financing and motorized shades?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Made in the Shade Aggieland offers financing to make your project affordable, plus smart motorized shades for tall and hard-to-reach windows — one customer called their motorized blinds 'worth every dime.' Ask Amanda about current options and specials during your free in-home consultation.

Question 6
