The Texas Patio Problem and How Outdoor Shades Solve It
The Problem: Outdoor living is big in Aggieland — patios, covered porches, and outdoor kitchens. But when the Texas sun is blazing, the heat, glare, and UV drive you back inside, fade your outdoor furniture, and heat the adjacent rooms. Your favorite outdoor room goes unused for the best hours of the day.
The Solution: Exterior patio shades and retractable screens fix it. Mounted over your outdoor space, they block UV and radiant heat before it reaches you, drop the temperature, cut glare, and add privacy — turning a sun-baked patio, porch, or outdoor kitchen into a comfortable space you can actually enjoy. Retractable awnings add shade on demand. They also help keep heat out of the adjacent rooms, easing your AC. Manual or motorized, built for the Aggieland climate. Financing available.
Exterior Shades
Block the Heat, Keep the View
Precision-woven exterior mesh blocks UV and radiant heat before it reaches your patio, porch, or outdoor kitchen — dropping temps and cutting glare while preserving your view. Retractable screens add bug protection. Manual or motorized.
Retractable Awnings
Shade On Demand for Your Outdoor Living
Retractable awnings extend for instant shade over your patio or deck, then retract for open sky. Motorized models with sun and wind sensors adjust automatically — great for a Texas patio.

Frequently Asked Questions About Outdoor & Patio Shades in Aggieland
How much cooler do exterior patio shades make an outdoor space?
Exterior solar shades can drop your patio’s ambient temperature significantly by blocking UV and radiant heat before it reaches you. In the Texas sun, that’s often the difference between a space you avoid in the afternoon and one you use all season.
They also cut glare, add privacy, and help keep heat out of the adjacent rooms.
Can I use outdoor shades on a covered porch or outdoor kitchen?
Yes – exterior shades and screens are ideal for patios, covered porches, and outdoor kitchens, blocking sun and glare and adding privacy to make the space comfortable through the Texas heat.
Retractable awnings add on-demand shade over open patios and decks.
Are they available motorized?
Yes – exterior shades and retractable awnings can be motorized with remote or app control, and awnings can include automatic sun and wind sensors that adjust for changing Texas weather.
